Pinkbike posted this video of Ray George and we checked it out.  The riding was smooth and the tricks were big and flowy but for a 2.5 minute video there seemed to be a lot of “b roll” filler and the music was a bit slow for our personal tastes.

What are your thoughts on this style of video vs the style more like that of the Brandon Semenuk Revel video that dropped two weeks ago?

Full disclosure here:  We did not know that there was a College Skateboard Contest series.  With that being said though, we are pretty stoked about it because it helps to fight the stereotype given to skateboarders that they can’t be both hardcore and educated at the same time.  We will for sure be following this series as it moves on.

Well guys, I was at the hospital one day and Scotty said grab the camera we are doing this. He is ready to talk to you all about the crash and is ready to take all of you on the journey with him. Head injuries have been plaguing athletes of all sports since the inception of sports.  The good (or bad) news for some is that recent advancements have allowed us to understand just how serious head injuries can be and what we can, and sometimes have, to do to keep ourselves from further and even permanent injuries.

We are sad to see Justin retire, but we are happy that he is choosing to live his life in a way that will help him live longer and happier and help to bring awareness to the seriousness of head injuries.
